The Weiyi Shoe factory which operates in Dongguan is being suspected of having closed its business down. A former employee claimed that after a dinner party in honour of National Day, the factory owners disappeared.
The Southern Metropolitan News reported that upon returning to work after the holiday the factory owners were nowhere to be found. They suspect that the owners ran away, owing about 2 months of salary. The workers posted a notice outside the factory saying that if the owners do not show up within 5 days then they will auction off all valuables in order to pay for their salary.
