merinoSYDNEY - Wool industry groups in Australia have raised concerns over procedures to force wool producers to declare if their sheep have been mulesed, without transparency being replicated further down the supply chain.

The Western Australian Farmers Federation (WAFarmers) has rejected the use of Australian Wool Exchange’s (AWEX) National Wool Declaration forms for the declaration of mulesing, suggesting that the rest of the wool supply chain should also take responsibility for traceability.
