RITE conference 2010LONDON – The RITE Group steering committee has announced that next year’s annual conference on sustainable textiles will once again take place in London, but this time on the 12th October 2011.

After a highly successful conference earlier this month, the RITE Group has said next year’s conference will take place once again in October 2011, but this time the date has been back by one week to accommodate visitors who are returning from the European fashion shows.

Delegates who attended this year’s event are entitled to an immediate 10% discount on next year’s conference if they book before the end of November 2010 and will be guaranteed a place. This year’s event sold out.

The provisional venue is once again likely to be Central Hall Westminster although other venues are also now being scoped and more information on the exact location of the conference will be revealed shortly. “However, it’s certainly going to be in the central London area,” noted RITE Group chairman Phil Patterson.

The plenary session and breakout format of the event has been widely praised by delegates and this format will continue next year. Topics likely to be under the spotlight at the RITE event in 2011 include: Water conservation, new generation biopolymers for synthetics, genetic modification in agricultural and processing, nanotechnology: advances and concerns and efforts on closing the textile production loop.
