Green chemistry: prevention is better than cure

chemistryClothing brands and retailers along with legislation such as REACH in Europe are now helping to bring ‘greener’ products to the consumer, and are putting further pressure on suppliers to adopt more eco-friendly practices.

The problem is that margins in the textile industry are slim, and cut-throat competition does not favour improvements that add cost, which can be a problem for both textile machinery producers and dyes and chemicals suppliers.
