BOBINGEN - Trevira has carried out a comprehensive cradle-to-factory gate assessment of its Polyester fibre manufacturing process to help determine the ecological footprint of its business.

The company commissioned Hamburg, Germany-based consultants Systain to carry out the study and reveal the total amount of carbon dioxide emissions caused by the manufacture of raw material to the 'ready for despatch' fibre bales / yarns. Initial results showed that in manufacturing its polyester products, Trevira claims its fibre emerges better than cotton in 8 out of 11 categories.
