COPENHAGEN- A new prize to reward supply chain transparency in the fashion design industry has been launched by Honest By designer Bruno Pieters and fashion journalist Kristopher Arden-Houser.Honest By tag

The ‘From1000 Transparency Prize’ is an academic award which links with the Honest By label’s transparent supply chain principles, and will commemorate designers who recognise the importance of public supply chains and allow buyers to trace the origins of their clothing.

The winner will receive mentoring from fashion development company From1000 and have their apparel sold by Honest By.

“I believe we are living in a moment where it is becoming clear that not just fashion design, but any kind of product we create, needs to be made in a progressive and sustainable way,” Pieters told British Vogue.

The winner will be chosen from fashion graduates who showcase at the Designer’s Nest platform during Copenhagen Fashion Week in February and August.

Honest By says it stocks designers who use organic, vegan or recycled materials that can be traced back to origin. They also aim to ensure that garments are produced in factories with safe conditions for workers.
