European flagsBRUSSELS – As part of its stated drive to ensure 10 – 20 per cent of textiles sold in Europe are eventually aligned with EU Eco-Label criteria, a number of experts assembled at the European Commission in Belgium to discuss new proposals for the latest revision of the voluntary textile standard. Negotiations on recycled fibres, cotton and textile chemicals proved to be the most contentious. John Mowbray reports from Brussels.
