Report claims value of textile recycling

Written by Brett Mathews

clothesNEW YORK - A new report from the US Environmental Protection Agency claims that clothing and textile recycling has a hugely favourable impact on reducing greenhouse gasses compared to the recycling other materials. Currently, two million tons of clothing are recycled in the US each year, with an equivalent impact of removing one million cars from the nation’s roads – more than five times the impact of recycling yard trimmings and four times the impact of glass recycling.
