AMSTERDAM – Made-By will this week launch a new tool which it claims will help brands measure the environmental impact of wet processing in their supply chains. The sustainable textiles consultancy says its Wet Processing Benchmark draws on real data from wet processing factories around the world in order to "illustrate the sustainability of common wet processing techniques and applications in terms of water use, energy use and potential chemical or safety hazards."
Made-By sought input from several of the world's leading textile chemicals companies while developing the benchmark and considering how it could quantify different impacts of wet processing, and says it has already had positive feedback from some of the world's leading clothing brands about the tool.
