STOCKHOLM - A new report from KEMI, the Swedish Chemicals Agency has called for more research into the presence of potentially hazardous chemical substances in textiles, and broader, more far-reaching regulation of chemicals by REACH. The report also raises concerns about the growing use of biocide-treated textile products, suggesting the "development of bacterial resistance to antibiotics is a very serious issue for human health."
