WAKEFIELD – In an industry first, MCL Global is to publish a major new report, which will examine environmental and social compliance issues in the world's leading apparel sourcing destinations. The Sustainable Sourcing Map will be the first time a publisher has compared – and assessed – the leading apparel sourcing destinations on areas such as environmental pollution related to textile manufacture, the enforcement of environmental legislation, wage levels, NGO activity and a broad range of other issues in the textile industry.

The new report, to be published in early 2015, will draw on interviews with government environmental departments, NGOs, trade bodies, apparel brands, and academics in 15 key garment sourcing destinations – among them Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and China. Newly emerging sourcing destinations such as Myanmar and Ethiopia will also be evaluated.
