HAMBURG - Retail giant Aldi, which has annual textile sales of 2.5 billion euros, has become the latest German business to commit to eliminating all potentially hazardous chemicals from its supply chains by 2020 as part of the Greenpeace Detox campaign. Aldi, along with Tchibo and Lidl, was among the companies targeted in a report from Greenpeace late last year which highlighted that more than half of laboratory-tested clothing from the three companies were found to contain potentially toxic chemicals.
