STOCKHOLM - The Clean Clothes Campaign has reacted with scepticism to news from H&M that it will upscale its work to introduce a 'living wage' for workers in its supplier factories. The Swedish clothing giant is currently trialling a 'fair wage' initiative in three of its factories, two in Bangladesh and one in Cambodia, and has announced in its new CSR report that it plans to scale-up this work to all of its strategic suppliers by 2018. The company's CEO Karl-Johan Persson has also said that democratically elected workplace representation will be introduced into all H&M's strategic suppliers by 2018.
