BERLIN – The German Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, which is aiming to drive social and environmental improvements in the global textile industry, has this week firmed up membership requirements and said that it is committed to working with textile associations across Europe in order to increase its reach and influence. The initiative was set up in 2014 by German Development Minister Müller and stakeholders from the private sector, civil society, trade unions and the government. It aims to improve living conditions and environmental conditions for workers in textile manufacturing countries.
