GREENSBORO – Unifi, which recycles plastic bottles into products used by brands such as The North Face, Quiksilver and Haggar, has announced that its Repreve recycled fibre product will be used in graduation gowns at more than 1,100 colleges and universities across the US this year. The company says almost 60 million plastic bottles have been recycled into Oak Hall GreenWeaver gowns, which are now worn by more than 2.2 million students. Each graduation gown is made from approximately 27 plastic bottles.
