BEIJING – China's textile dyeing & finishing sector has been singled out by the country's State Council in far-reaching new plans which have been laid out to clean up the country's waterways. The sector will be hit by a raft of new measures compelling it to operate more cleanly and efficiently or face hefty fines and closure notices. China's new water-plan is stricter than many analysts had anticipated and, according to the influential China Water Risk website, could lead to plant closures for many of the smaller operators that characterise China's dyeing and finishing sector.
