LONDON – More than half of UK clothing imports are sourced from areas of high water scarcity risk according to a new report which is urging businesses to map their global supply chains and gain an understanding of whether their production is sourced from water risk 'hotspot' regions. The report, by WWF-UK, says businesses sourcing from water-scarce regions face physical, regulatory and reputational risks but suggests they can also play a key role in "improving management of the rivers, lakes and aquifers upon which their businesses depend."
