BGMEA head resigns from Bangladesh Alliance

DHAKA - Atiq Islam, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has resigned from the board of the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety, the organisation founded by a group of North American apparel companies to help drive improvement in safety in Bangladeshi ready-made garment (RMG) and textile factories. Islam's resignation means there is currently no BGMEA representation on the Alliance Board.
