Speedo and Aquafil launch take-back scheme

Written by Brett Mathews

TRENTO – Italian nylon yarn producer Aquafil has partnered with leading swimwear brand Speedo USA in a take-back program that will see post-manufacturing Speedo swimwear scraps up-cycled into Aquafil's 100 per cent regenerated Econyl nylon. The companies claim the partnership will create a closed-loop manufacturing partnership and that the Speedo PowerFlex Eco swimwear fabric is "endlessly recyclable." This is the first ever take-back programme for both parties.
