EU extends CMR consultation deadline

BRUSSELS – Following requests from the textile industry and apparel brands and retailers, we understand the European Commission has decided to extend the deadline for public consultation on the possible restriction of nearly 300 substances that are classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR). The original deadline of 22nd January will now be extended until 22nd March, although no formal announcement has yet being made.
