BEIJING – Research from MCL News & Media has highlighted a notable spike in the number of violation records in China's textile dyeing and finishing industry in recent years since the introduction of legislative standards for printing and dyeing wastewater were strengthened in 2012. The research, based on the database of the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (IPE) in China, shows that the number of violation records for dyeing and finishing in China rose from 293 in 2012 to 981 in 2013 and 1250 in 2014, with preliminary findings for 2015 pointing to a continued upward trend. It's thought that although tougher legislation has led to more violations due to difficulties in meeting the new standards, more efficient monitoring is also helping to identify polluting companies.
