HONG KONG - New research carried out by undercover reporters at Chinese factories supplying to one of the world's largest retail brands has uncovered numerous workplace violations, including frequent worker injuries and exposure to hazardous chemicals, excessive working hours and, in some cases, a failure to pay the legal minimum wage. The research saw investigators take jobs as frontline workers across eight Chinese supplier factories over an eight-month period, producing findings which once again raise serious questions about whether environmental and social compliance is being adequately enforced in China.
