HANGZHOU – More than 600 textile dye houses, print mills, and finishing mills will be forced to temporarily shut down by the Chinese authorities when the G20 Conference takes place from 4-5th September in Hangzhou. The closures are aimed at controlling air pollution in the lead up to the summit, with China clearly concerned the high profile event - which will see China hosting leaders from 20 major economies around the world - will be overshadowed by the chronic pollution and smog issues which now affect many parts of the province. Hangzhou is the capital of China's Zhejiang province and is in close proximity to Shanghai, which has ordered 225 industrial facilities to close between August 24 and September 6.
