HAMBURG – By 2020 half of all textiles purchased by the German Government will be from sustainable production sources – that was the welcome message of Helmut Fischer, head of division for sustainable standards with Germany's Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. Mr Fischer made the announcement at this year's annual Textile Exchange sustainability conference which, after a raft of late sign-ups, confirmed that an impressive 375 delegates were in attendance at this year's event.
