DHAKA – VF Corp has joined 12 other leading apparel businesses in a project which is addressing water sustainability in Bangladesh's textile sector. The US business is working with IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, in an initiative which aims to reduce excessive groundwater extraction and surface water pollution, as well as energy and chemical use. The growth of Bangladesh's garment industry has seen the water table in and around Dhaka falling as businesses have drilled deeper for water to fuel the wet processing sector.
