LYON – International chemical business Solvay, a world leader in polyamide-based performance materials, has officially launched its new solution Technyl 4earth which is claimed to provide significant environmental benefits as compared to traditional Polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6). Technyl 4earth sees technical textile waste – initially from airbags – recycled into high-quality polyamide 6,6 grades. Solvay launched Technyl 4earth at K2016 in Düsseldorf and says it is already developing a number of applications, including in consumer goods markets.
