DHAKA - The Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety has hit back at a report which claims it is overstating progress made in repairing safety defects in factories supplying to member companies, suggesting the report set up a "false sense of competition," between the Alliance and the Bangladesh Accord. However, a statement from the Alliance failed to directly address the accusation that many factories listed as "on track" with regards to safety issues still lack appropriate fire exits, an approved fire alarm system or have major structural problems.
