PARIS – A bill which would impose an environmental surcharge of up to €10 ($11) per garment on ultra-fast fashion companies, such as China-owned Shein, has been approved by France's National Assembly.

All voting lawmakers in the lower house of the French Parliament unanimously approved the bill which will need the approval of the upper house, the Senate, to become law.
