LONDON – The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has been criticised by the Carbon Market Watch non-profit after it confirmed plans to extend the use of carbon credits to offset Scope 3 carbon emissions.

Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Scope 3 – brands' global supply chains – are responsible for more than 90% of the fashion and textiles industry's carbon footprint but the use of carbon credits has become increasingly contentious.
