BRUSSELS - The European Parliament has approved rules to ban the sale, import and export of goods made using forced labour from the European Union (EU).

The regulation, driven by concerns about human rights in the Xinjiang region of China, would be Europe's equivalent of the US Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) which bans imports from the region on the presumption they are made with forced labour.
