BRUSSELS – The IWTO has hit back at suggestions that wool is an allergen amid the recent controversy surrounding American Airlines' wool uniforms which have reportedly caused more than 1,600 employees to suffer from headaches, rashes, hives, burning skin, itching and eye irritation. The story has rumbled on for a couple of weeks, with some believing it may be the chemical treatments the wool uniforms have been through causing the problems - possibly the dyeing – while others believe the wool fabric itself to be the irritant, specifically the micron of the wool.
