The new Centre aims to bring together sector experts in sustainable practise and plans to develop existing partnerships and collaborate with organisations already operating in this sector.
Dr Frances Corner, Head of London College of Fashion said, “London College of Fashion is committed to drive up the quality of advice, information and support surrounding issues of sustainability and climate change. Environmental and ethical concerns should be high on everyone’s agenda, as fundamental considerations for any forward thinking fashion organisation.”
Earlier this year the London College of Fashion launched its own ethical fashion campaign “Is Green the New Black” and is not only developing a postgraduate degree in sustainable fashion, but is also working to embed ethical and sustainable fashion into its undergraduate courses.
The project will be rolled out in a number of stages with the first phase beginning September 2007.
