RMG workers stage protests over arrears

Written by Stacey Dove

Garment workers of Envoy Group owned by BGMEA president, staged demonstrations over their salaries by barricading the road at Jamgorah in Ashulia for over two hours.

The Daily Star reported that the garment workers set fire to furniture of the factory on the road and vandalised some other roadside factories hurling brickbats. Local sources said hundreds of agitating workers took to the street in the afternoon. Police rushed to the spot and freed the road after convincing the workers.
