HONG KONG – Chinese
textile manufacturer Esquel Group has performed several trials with a light
surfactant-based process incorporating enzymes from bioinnovation company
Novozymes.
During the trials under
the Danish biotechnology firm’s “elemental textiles” initiative, the Esquel
Group achieved a saving of 30m3 of water per ton of knitted fabric in just one
single process (bleaching) where enzymes substituted chemicals.
