marksLondon - Marks & Spencer (M&S) has now achieved 70 of the 180 commitments it has set itself under its Plan A environmental and ethical programme.

Highlights of the UK-based retailer’s latest half year progress report show that the stores, offices and distribution centres in the UK are now recycling 92% of their operational waste, up from the 53% reported in June and 41% in 2008/09. Solutions are now being trialled to recycle the remaining 8% of waste so that M&S can achieve its commitment to send zero waste to landfill by 2012.
