LONDON – A new report from DEFRA on the safe use of fire retardants with improved safety and environmental performance promotes the use of wool and wool blend textiles in furnishings; but although it encourages the adoption of non-chemical flame retardant finishes, admits this will take some time and is constrained by costs and other environmental factors.
