Event: Home Textiles Sourcing Expo

Written by Haydn Davis

htseNEW YORK - The Home Textiles Sourcing Expo, held from July 19 – 21, 2011 at the Javits Center in New York City, is the only US event solely focused on fabrics and finished soft goods for all home applications.

The full spectrum of fabric and finished soft-product manufacturers will be showing the following categories: bath, bed, floor coverings, kitchen, outdoor, pillows, tabletop, upholstery, wall coverings and window coverings.

At the inaugural edition in 2010, 10% of exhibiting companies featured fabrics with eco-friendly characteristics. An even larger participation is expected for the 2011 edition. Event partner Lenzing Fibers will be presenting seminars on fibre innovations, the cellulosic gap as well as the challenges and opportunities inherent in sourcing from Pakistan.

David Bennell, Executive Director of Textile Exchange will speak during a special session on textile sustainability, while Jamila Payne, President, National Association of Sustainable Fashion Designers will continue the conversation with her presentation titled “Designing for Style and Impact”. All seminars are free of charge for exhibitors and registered attendees. HTSE is produced by Messe Frankfurt, Inc. and co-located with Texworld USA, the largest apparel fabrics show in North America.
