BARCELONA -The Textile Exchange has announced the details of some of the leading industry names that will be speaking at its Sustainable Textiles Conference in Barcelona in September.

Taking place on 19 and 20 September, immediately prior to the ITMA exhibition, the list of plenary sessions speakers includes David Asquith, Head of adidas Operations for Apparel and Accessories, adidas; John Frazier, Director of Product Chemistry and Water, Nike; and Peter Waeber, CEO, bluesign.

Delegates will also hear from Patrick Hohmann, Founder, Remei and Chair of bioRe Foundation; and Dr. David Cook, Executive Ambassador, The Natural Step. Topics under discussion will include • product end-of-life, green chemistry and materials, natural resource use and efficiency, indexing and value chain transparency.

The event also includes the ‘Sustainable Textiles in a Day’ program which taking place on 18 September, will provide participants with a look at the key issues and solutions surrounding material environmental impacts. This one day seminar is said to be ideal for newcomers and for those brands, retailers and manufacturers who are looking to include more sustainable fibres in their business.
