VICTORIA, CANADA - Crailar Technologies will begin production of Crailar fibre at its new South Carolina facility before the turn of the year and anticipates upping production to 600,000 lbs (272 tons) per week by the end of 2013. It is claimed that Crailar is a natural fibre made from flax and other bast fibres and is produced using a fraction of the water and chemical inputs compared with other natural fibres.
