Faux furWASHINGTON – Three US clothing firms, Neiman Marcus Group, DrJays.com, and Eminent Clothing have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charges that allege they misled consumers by marketing real fur products as containing “faux” fur and failing to disclose the animal’s name and country of origin. The move follows the expansion of the US Fur Act’s jurisdiction that now covers foreign manufacturers, a move that is likely to benefit transparency in the clothing supply chain.
