HELSINKI – Two textile chemical substances, which are commonly used in either detergents, or the by-products of water and stain repellent textile clothing, have been proposed to be included on the REACH Candidate List as substances of very high concern (SVHCs). The threshold for all SVHC substances is 1000 ppm at the article level – a much higher concentration than the parts per billion that have caused so much controversy in the global textile sector.
