WICHITA – Invista has teamed up with Portuguese biotechnology firm SilicoLife to develop new technologies to enable bio-derived processes for the production of butadiene, a key intermediate chemical used in the manufacture of nylon 6,6 for textile fibres. The move follows a similar deal with LanzaTech last year, which is expected to go commercial in 2016.
