BALTIMORE – Officials from Japan and the United States have signed a new equivalency agreement that will allow the sale of products that meet the Japanese Organic Standard and the USDA NOP requirements to be labelled and sold as organic in the USA and Japanese markets. As a result, as of 1st January 2014, certified organic products can move freely between the United States and Japan and organic products such as textiles need only one farm certification to cover sale in either country.
