Living wage focus a red herring, claims professor

labNEWCASTLE – A leading textiles academic has claimed that clothing brands aren’t putting a ‘proper’ price on labour in contract negotiations with foreign suppliers – an oversight which regularly leads to excessive unpaid overtime, unrealistic production targets and sub-contracting.
