labTASHKENT - Uzbekistan’s ninth annual Cotton and Textile Fair, which recently took place in Tashkent on October 16 and 17, has been overshadowed by on-going debate about forced labour in the country’s cotton fields. The show also coincided with the release of a new Global Slavery Index which suggested ‘modern slavery’ is rife in the country during the annual cotton harvest.
