Cotton budROME - A new report has shown how the use of farmer field schools (FFS) to train farmers in the use of alternatives to hazardous insecticides helped slash pesticide usage by 92 per cent in Southern Mali. The Food and Agriculture Organisation study compared two Southern African cotton growing regions, Bla and Bougouni, over an eight-year period.
