red riverJAVA - A troubling documentary which has aired on Channel Four in the UK highlighted the spectacular disregard for the environment of many textile manufacturers operating on the banks of the Citarum River Indonesia. The programme films presenter Seyi Rhodes rowing down the river as the water - quite literally - turns red and then blue around his boat due to untreated textile waste being pumped directly into the river from a nearby factory.
