Esprit steps up PFC removal efforts

Written by John Mowbray

espritRATINGEN – The huge challenge posed by the use of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in stain repellent textiles and clothing has been highlighted by Esprit which has confirmed to Ecotextile News that it has this year expanded its in-house chemical testing laboratory to “enable detection of all PFC groups on product.” The retailer is hopeful the new kit will help it meet its goal of phasing out use of all PFCs by the end of 2014 as part of its ‘detox’ commitments.
