MILAN – Six Italian textile suppliers which last week committed to eliminating all hazardous chemicals from their respective supply chains as part of Greenpeace's Detox campaign, did so voluntarily. The revelation, by Chiara Campione, project leader for Greenpeace Italy, is at odds with earlier Detox 'sign-ups' which have tended to follow months of public pressure on brands by Greenpeace.

In the latest issue of Ecotextile News, out this week, we ask whether Greenpeace's campaign is set to take a new direction as smaller brands with less complex supply chains look to gain kudos among younger customers by working with Greenpeace.
