PHNOM PENH — New research on Cambodia's garment manufacturing industry has found that more than 40 per cent of workers surveyed were anaemic, while more than 15 per cent were underweight according to Asian Body Mass Index (BMI) criteria. The findings from the International Labour Organisation's (ILO) Better Factories Cambodia project draw on surveys with 3,890 garment workers across ten garment factories employing over 13,300 garment workers, where researchers have looked at assessing the impact of food provision on workers' health and productivity.
